TASC Force News

Quality Coordinator Dara Balber and team members Heather Wild and Edward Ploughman from BJ’s Citrus Park, Florida, helped with the “Relay for Life” held at a local elementary school. Cancer survivors and their supporters, in near 100 degree temperatures, walked around a nearby park for 24 hours and our TASC Force team served dinner to 70 survivors.  Dara writes, “It was a great event and we enjoyed working it. We have made lifelong guests from the people in attendance.”

Luis Ruvalcaba’s region stepped up in proper BJ’s style and helped the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with its annual San Francisco Walk for a Cure. TASC Force teams from San Mateo, San Bruno, and Newark joined forces and provided pizza, pasta, and salad for more than 800 people! Team members from the restaurants participated in the 5 mile walk before feeding the masses! When asked why she was participating team member Ashley Mason responded, “Are you kidding? We care!

When Terri Rotman, AGM at BJ’s at the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, Washington received a letter from a mom whose son, Cole, has cystic fibrosis, she invited them into the restaurant to discuss a fundraiser. Here is her report on the party that was arranged:
