TASC Force News

Roseville team member Molly Patterson worked for a month in Cambodia recently and taught English in two schools. She sent a wonderfully detailed account of her experiences, a small part of which I’m happy to share here. “The people of Cambodia are trying to move from a country of factory workers to a more industrialized country. The way that I and others can help with this development is through a more substantial education for the youth of Cambodia.

Habitat for Humanity has become our “go to” for TASC Force events across the country. My thanks to Jeff Sage and Bill Franks of BJ’s Woodland Hills for this story:

Luis Ruvalcaba’s region stepped up in proper BJ’s style and helped the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with its annual San Francisco Walk for a Cure. TASC Force teams from San Mateo, San Bruno, and Newark joined forces and provided pizza, pasta, and salad for more than 800 people! Team members from the restaurants participated in the 5 mile walk before feeding the masses! When asked why she was participating team member Ashley Mason responded, “Are you kidding? We care!

Andre Abelkis and his Sunset Valley TASC Force support Habitat for Humanity.

This heartfelt story comes from Senior Manager David Wright of BJ’s in Chandler, Arizona. “David Frohme has been a regular guest at BJ’s Chandler for 5 years. Many Saturdays he is at the bar with friends who drive him from his home several hours away.  David is a strong track and field athlete with a great attitude, and he competes in Special Olympics due to mental illness. Managers, Team Members, and regular guests have attended his local meets, and this year David qualified for Nationals. The trip to Lincoln, Nebraska would cost each athlete $1000.00.
