TASC Force News

The opportunity to help kids in the Stockton area was important to BJ’s team member Betsy Hooper who took it upon herself to organize a TASC Force team in response to a baseball coach’s call for help. Here is Betsy’s story:

“Our Stockton TASC Force team recently helped the Pioneer Little League re-build its snack bar for the 2010 Season. One of the Pioneer coaches read about our TASC Force program, and wanted to know if we could help! The coach emailed BJ's Corporate Office and they forwarded the email to us!

Our Boulder, Colorado BJ’s TASC Force team, under the guidance of GM Julia Hansen, has again worked with the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity.

On Saturday, April 10th, the TASC Team of BJ’s Brea helped Cal State Fullerton with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, a twenty-four hour relay in which participants walked to
raise money to find a cure for cancer.

The TASC team BJ’s Brea provided:
•200 pizza slices for volunteers and cancer survivors,
•400 bottles of water for participants,
•And 4 team members to serve pizza and pass out bottled water the day of the event.

Once again, we have a wonderful example of team members who have unselfishly donated their time and volunteered for the betterment of others. I’m pleased to highlight the efforts of TASC Force team Glendale with this brief story.

When children were in need, we responded with food and clothing and a kind word.

And when fundraisers were held to fight cancer, leukemia, multiple sclerosis and cystic fibrosis, we were there with our teams to walk, run or ride bikes to help raise money.

When children were undergoing treatment in local hospitals, we helped in nearby homes where their parents anxiously awaited the results of treatments and surgeries.
